4/15(二) 美國林務局濕地創建與復育講座

文化大學地理系巴利士老師邀請美國林務局的Mr. Thomas R. Biebighauser來台，進行"濕地創建與復育"的講座及工作坊，其中一場講座將在關渡自然公園舉行。歡迎有興趣的民眾參與。

美國林務局（明尼蘇達州 Superior National Forest 及肯塔基州 Daniel Boone National Forest，1978 至 2013 年）。

Biebighauser 於 1982 年在明尼蘇達州開始修復濕地，自 1982 年以來已修復或創建 1400 多個濕地在 18 個州和加拿大的兩個省。
肯塔基州的溪流復育：Biebighauser 目前正與美國林務局和肯塔基州魚類和野生動物資源部計劃河流復育。
認出土地排水的歷史形式：Biebighauser 尤其是善於識別歷史地景排水的做法，還審查了數百個失敗的濕地和河流修復項目。
地下水水壩：Biebighauser 開創修復濕地的地下水水壩使用。
親手工作坊：Biebighauser 喜歡動手工作坊，在這些工作坊參加者用自己的雙手創建濕地。他在 25 個州和省教過了濕地培訓和課程，其中包括卑詩省濕地學會（British Columbia Wetlands Institute）、濕地修復學會（Wetland Restoration Institute）、東北濕地修復學會（NortheastWetland Restoration Institute）。他已幫助 80 多名教師在他們的學校創建濕地用作戶外教室。
濕地與河流復育中心：Biebighauser 和合作夥伴於 1982 年成立濕地與河流復育中心。

1995 年：肯塔基州州長指派 Biebighauser 作為肯德基上校（Kentucky　Colonel）
1999 年：資源保育優秀成就獎（Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company 及National Association of Conservation Districts）
2005 年：肯塔基州 PRIDE 獎（濕地復育領導）
2007 年：世界地球日獎（Earth Day Award），肯塔基富集獎（KentuckyEnrichment Award），優秀援助獎（Outstanding Assistance Award），自然資源領導獎（Natural Resources Leadership Award）
2008，2009 年：美國林務局修復計劃獎（Restoration Project Awards）
2010 年：美國林務局自然資源榮譽獎（Natural Resources Honors Award）
2011 年：National Wings Across the Americas Conservation Award（蝙蝠管理和濕地修復）
