作者背景

香港籍的梁美萍,她的作品取材自對日常生活的檢視,創作藝術透過各類型媒介呈現,包括混合媒材、影像、多媒體和特定主題的裝置藝術。畢業於法國巴黎國立高等藝術學校與美國加州藝術學院,作品於國際間展出。目前於香港與海外各地學校從事藝術教育與文化研究工作。

 

Artist Background

Mee-ping Leung’s works examine daily life through perception of daily life itself. She uses art genres including mixed-media, video, multi media installation and site-specific event-based projects. Leung graduated from L’Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France and the California Institute of Arts, USA. She has created her installation art projects internationally. Currently, she is teaching art and cultural studies at various colleges in Hong Kong and overseas.

創作理念

關渡自然公園是高科技都市化的台北市內,僅存的一塊自然保護區;「在城市與自然兩種都市型態間的競逐張力,就是我想表達的意涵。」這項作品將於關渡自然公園內,設置一個三公尺見方、以天然物質製作的「刪除鍵」,如同麥金塔電腦的鍵盤型式。「它要表達的是這城市求新求變的企圖心,進而引發都市的開發,對消失與存在、毀滅與建設之間的相互對話。」


Statement

I understand this event in the following way: Guandu Nature Park’s outdoor sculpture festival is a way of looking at the Park as the only natural wild land for a cyber-tech city such as Taipei.  The tension between these two urban modalities is the text for my creative concept.  I plan to set up a site-specific installation in Guandu Park, the non-architectural space as well as a natural environment, consisting of a 3-meter by 3-meter “delete” key simulating the “delete” key of a Mac G5 computer, but constructing it with natural materials.  It aims to express the constant desire for innovation in the city.  It leads to a consideration of the dialectical relationships between “disappearance and appearance; deconstruction and construction” in the urban present progressive tense.
