Viewing the environmental approaches from each of the disciplinaries and areas of expertise as paths, what shall we do when we stand on the paths crisscrossing to find a way to share our strengths, build cooperating relationships, and reorganize the deployment to product the best possible results?
Introduction
Guandu Nature Park is a conservation site and the very moving force behind the environmental education development in Taiwan. The live show of ecosystem on the stage of Guandu Nature Park is then interconnected with the realities found around the globe. With our 13 years’ experiences in organizing Ghuandu International Nature Festival and 8 years’ in Taiwan’s Project WET Curriculum Network, we recruited many of the propagators in the areas of creative art and ecological conservation, working together to advocate the values of natural conservation.
In doing so, we found that we need to bring together all the talents of science, art, culture and education in Guandu Nature Park to foster convergence and dialogues. By putting their heads together, this forum can contribute to the work of natural conservation with multiple perspectives and present some new ways to engage the public in environmental actions. This forum is a joint activity, which includes the Annual Conference of Taiwan’s Project WET Network for Partners and Ghuandu International Nature Festival, to create a cross-disciplinary forum for conservationists, environmental educationists and creative artists.
This forum is divided into three parts: cross-disciplinary experience sharing and role positioning, facilitation and stimulation of the public’s participation in environmental actions via translation and media, and evaluation and assessment of the influence of action plan on the society. We invite all of you to join us in Guandu Nature Park, where you can actually sit and walk around to explore beyond the boundaries of disciplinaries, seeking a cross-disciplinary solution to the problems for our future.
